The employment situation in Southeast Kentucky is still bleak with the continuing loss of jobs. This has meant more students needing assistance. So far, we have picked up two additional schools needing help. About 400 students are receiving weekend food bags. This does not include students who receive school supplies and hygiene items among other needs. We are so thankful for the Resource Centers in each school who see that these needs are met. With that said, God has sent new partners to assist with these demands. We are so thankful for those who have chosen to bless our students and their families.
On a personal note, we had a few bumps in the road with some health issues and personal losses. Again, God was and is faithful in meeting all needs.
We are so appreciative of SC friends who look after the home front when we are in KY and the KY friends who look after the home front when we are in SC. What a blessing you all are!
Again, we cooked and served more hot dogs than we care to remember!! In doing so, we met many wonderful people and were able to share God’s love with them.
As we go into 2017, we ask for continued prayers for our students, their families, and their schools. We ask for prayers that all needs of our students will be met. Please also pray for good health for us, traveling mercies, and continued lower gas prices! We can’t wait to see what God has in store!
God bless you all now and in the New Year!

What a roller coaster year this has been!! Through it all God has been more than faithful.

If you give some of your food to feed those who are hungry and to satisfy the needs of those who are humble, then your light will rise in the dark, and your darkness will become as bright as the noonday sun.
